Bio
Yasmin Cleveland aka Ms. Yazz ROAR grew up as an only child in Brooklyn NY. At the age of 18 she walked into the Paradise Garage and for the first time felt like she finally found a place where she could be herself without being judged. A place where she belonged. House Music saved her life from the addiction of drugs, alcohol, and bulimia as well as jail institutions and death. In the dance of House, she found recovery and has been clean for for11 years now.
Yasmin’s journey of addiction led her to know her purpose.
Today she is the Director of ROAR- Reaches Out Addiction & Recovery Sober living house for women, a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, and A Life Coach specializing in addiction using Rhythmic Music as a part of Therapy.
After the passing of her mother on January 26, 2020. Yasmin began writing and in her pain Therapy House music snatched her up once again and that’s where her new journey began as a Spoken Word Artist.
